Each the Home Appropriations Committee (HAC) and SAC beneficial growing funding for the U.S. Division of Well being and Human Providers (HHS) rural well being applications, which are administered by the Federal Workplace of Rural Well being Coverage (FORHP). The HAC beneficial growing funding to $70.7 million above the FY 2021 enacted stage, and the SAC beneficial growing funding to $73.2 million above the FY 2021 enacted stage. NRHA is extraordinarily happy that each Congressional appropriations committees are searching for to present extra funding for rural well being applications. The HAC and SAC matched NRHA’s requested funding allocations for the Rural Maternal and Obstetric Administration Methods (RMOMS) program ($10 million) and Rural Residency Planning and Growth (RRPD) program ($12.7 million). Moreover, the HAC and SAC included report language to encourage HRSA to increase the present program to incorporate RTTs in obstetrics and gynecology and request a report within the fiscal yr 2023 Congressional Finances Justification on the progress made so far and efforts to increase RTTs in obstetrics and gynecology.
The HAC matched NRHA’s requested funding allocations for the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility (Flex) program ($61.2 million) and Rural Emergency Hospital (REH) Technical Help (TA) program ($10 million) however didn’t match NRHA’s requested funding allocations for the Rural Supplier Modernization Technical Help program ($8 million) and Rural Supplier Modernization Grants ($13 million). The SAC didn’t match NRHA’s funding allocation for any of those applications. Neither the HAC or SAC matched NRHA’s requested funding allocations for the US Division of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Hospital Technical Help (TA) program ($5 million.
